I pay attention to signals from my instinct

I pay attention to signals from my instinct.

There is a voice in my head that means me well all the time. I pay attention to the signals it sends because I know the outcome ends up being in my favor when I do.

It is easy to be led astray by all the voices of reason on the outside, but I am careful and deliberate in my decision making. I avoid drowning out my own voice when it is telling me something for my benefit.

Listening to my gut is frightening because it sometimes betrays what seems like a wonderful opportunity ahead of me.

But I know the feeling in my stomach is coming from a place of wisdom. I accept that glittery things are sometimes a façade designed to lure me in a particular direction. I stay grounded and unfazed by the promises.

Taking a job in a foreign country is about more than just a paycheck. Although one opportunity may seem more lucrative than the other, I consider all the factors.

I seek peace of mind with every experience. I listen to my gut when it tells me that the choice in front of me is unlikely to cater to my peace of mind.

Today, amongst the many voices I hear, I choose to listen to my own first. I am blessed to have the wisdom and advice from others around me, but decisions about my life are mine to make.

Self-Reflection Questions:

  1. How do I know when my gut is acting from a place of wisdom?
  2. How do I know when my instincts are thwarted by external influence?
  3. How do I know when it is better to take someone else’s advice instead of mine?
